How we work
We consider buildings to be a part of the natural environment we live in. To this end, we combine ecosystems with built systems, to create environments that promote a sustainable relationship with our planet.
We are passionate about building conservation and retrofit projects, advocating that the most environmentally friendly building is an existing one.
By combining cutting edge technology with indiginous knowledge and local materials we create new vernacular spaces to live, work and play.
What’s important to us?
SUSTAINABILITYBuilding sustainably in order to address the climate crisis both in construction and operation
Creating healthy spaces by improving the quality of our internal atmosphere and our connection to our natural environment
Learning from the vernacular by using local knowledge and natural materials
Integrating passive technology to monitor and improve the spaces we occupy
Designing for long term flexibility to increase adaptation and recycling
Built Works Director Will Gowland is a Certified Passive House Designer and the practice is a member of the International Passive House Institute (iPHA), The Passive House Trust (PHT) and Association of Environmentally Concious Building (AECB).
