Yogi’s Cabin
Yogi’s Cabin is organised around a simple, open timber studio set within the woodland at Great Park Farm, designed to support yoga, movement and quiet occupation throughout the day. The plan is arranged on a clear east–west axis, with large sliding openings framing views through the alder trees and across the adjacent natural swimming pool, allowing changing light conditions to shape the internal atmosphere from morning to evening.
The building draws on a hybrid of Japanese domestic architecture and local agricultural precedents. Deep eaves and a continuous perimeter deck form a sheltered threshold between interior and landscape, recalling the engawa while responding to the wet woodland setting. This intermediate zone extends the usable space of the cabin outward and allows movement, rest and circulation to take place partially outdoors.
