The project was developed through an open and collaborative process with Other People’s Dreams and the University of Central Lancashire, blending architectural craft with participatory making and live community testing. This was a self build project, the pavilion and deck were prefabricated in workshop environments before being assembled on site — a process that prioritised learning, experimentation and hands-on engagement. Extra-long tables and built-in seating encourage communal gathering, while the lightweight canopy and pavilion frame form a welcoming shelter for events, workshops and performance. The result is both structure and experiment — a shared act of making that reflects Waterfoot’s creative energy and invites ongoing contribution.
