Common Objects x WORKKS
In summer 2018 the ceramics studio Common Objects and WORKKS. collaborated to create a makers’ space and shop in Windermere, Cumbria.
The space occupied an extremely old, and extremely unloved, coal and animal store under The Elleray Pub & Hotel in the centre of the village. WORKKS. designed and installed bespoke metal work, jesmonite shelving and surfaces for display, and for the coffee bar. Rinaldo’s of Cumbria installed some special coffee machinery and coffee and we were off. The shop opened for two weeks in August, displaying and selling crafts and produce by makers from across the country, with a focus on those from the North West.
